For the first few months a baby's world is mostly blur and contrast. These cards are built for that window.

Five double-sided fabric cards give ten printed faces in strong graphic contrast, the kind of imagery a newborn can actually resolve. Six different textures are worked into them, micro-velvet, corduroy, suede, looped fabric, cotton muslin and felt, so there is something to find with fingertips as well as eyes.

A silicone ring holds them together as a first fabric book. Unclip them and they become tummy-time props, or lay them on the floor to encourage reaching and rolling. Because they are fabric rather than card, they can be mouthed, crumpled and washed.

Stimuli is Kaloo's early-development range, created with psychomotor therapists to give babies the right sensory input at the right stage. It is designed for 0 to 6 months in particular and stays useful up to around 24 months. Suitable from birth. FABRIC, NOT CARD - Soft, washable and safe to mouth, unlike the printed card sets sold for the same purpose. They survive being chewed, crumpled and dropped.
