Lions are big cats that can grow up to 2 metres long. They live in groups of up to 15 animals called prides. Prides are close family groups with up to three males and around 12 females. Male lions have a distinctive mane, an impressive fringe of hair around their head which makes them look bigger and more appealing to females. They’re extremely powerful and have a huge ROAAR. Unsurprisingly, they symbolise strength and courage.
